  1. Some comments/anecdotes:
    1) BattleForce never quite ignited with us. I believe the players did not like to relinquish control of either their characters or acquired NPC allies, and them being wiped out in a few bad rolls.
    2) The more the BT progressed in the timeline, the less and less it appealed to me aesthetically. I liked the universe of the late 3rd succession war, with it’s clear connection to pre-Muadib Dune, Spaghetti Westerns and Kurosawa films, exotic strange yet habitable worlds, post-apocalyptic grime, buried treasures and complex patterns of feudal noble houses and failed social experiments. One ironically best displayed by the version I never played or refereed: MechWarrior 1st edition. I hope the franchise goes back to that after the ilClan era.
    3) Scale: Yes, it requires some preparation. A good campaign also needs a mapped out relationship web of major players plus the forces they might have at their disposal to be explored and used, especially in connection with a rigid ressource management game.
